DAY 1: Monday
Replenish your body, mind and soul in peaceful surroundings at Daisy’s Guest House, just minutes from the quaint historic town of Occidental. This intimate Bed and Breakfast is the perfect mix of comfort, charm, and elegance and is an ideal retreat to share laughter and reminiscent tales of an exhilarating Sonoma Wine Country biking adventure.
You’ll check into your host accommodations at Daisy’s Guest House for your entire stay. Early arrivals may meet for a bike fitting and optional self-guided warm-up ride in and around Occidental. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon with a wine and cheese reception on the patio.
Dinner this evening will be at Corks Restaurant, featuring a delightful Italian flare in a wine country setting. Corks is located on the property of Russian River Vineyards among the rolling hills and vineyards of western Sonoma County. D
DAY 2: Tuesday
Following breakfast, you’ll travel towards the Russian River Valley through the hills of West Sonoma County, where you will taste fine wines and champagnes. Enroot to the town of Guerneville in the heart of the Russian River you’ll visit Korbel Champagne Cellars for a tour and tasting. As you cycle through the winding roads of the Russian River you’ll come upon the once lumber town of Guerneville, situated on the Russian River, and is now a desirable vacation destination. Locals and visitors alike enjoy swimming, fishing, canoeing and camping in this recreation haven near the coast. It is also home to the incomparable Armstrong Redwood State Reserve with its towering ancient redwoods. Here you will enjoy a leisurely hike among the magnificent redwoods.
The beautiful Korbel Champagne Cellars
Today you’ll cycle the scenic Guerneville Highway through the towering redwoods to Monte Rio. Once a major mecca for tourists, today quaint summer cottages have become year-round homes. The funky Quonset-hut theatre that dominates the center of town not only continues to show feature films, its interior and exterior murals depict the community’s history.
Your route will take you along the winding highway and along the Russian River to the rugged California Coast. Enjoy a coastal ride along the coast. Lunch today will be at Lucas Wharf in heart of Bodega Bay home of the movie “The Birds”. After a hearty lunch you’ll have a casual ride back to the town of Bodega for a tour of the school house and church from the movie. Following a relaxation tour of the quaint town of Bodega you’ll travel back toward the town of Freestone for a tour and tasting at Freestone Winery nestled in the valley. Following the Bohemian Highway back to Occidental and back to your accommodations. This evening is free for you to enjoy. BL / Moderate Cycling
DAY 3: Wednesday
After a hardy breakfast you’ll head north to the quaint town of Healdsburg, here you will launch south of the dam for an escorted canoe/kayak adventure on the Russian River. This is your greatest chance to see many kinds of wildlife along the flowing Russian River. You will have a chance to see vineyards from the water as well as find great swimming areas in the refreshing Russian River. Lunch will take place on one of the many beaches nestled along the river. The tour will then end at the one of the oldest bridges in the Russian River Valley, The Wholer Bridge. This whole trip is great for many photo opportunities leaving you with great memories you can look back on. Once the tour is over you will be taken via van back to your launching point to obtain your car.
This evening you’ll dine at K&L Bistro a sumptuous restaurant located on main street in the friendly town of Sebastopol. BLD
DAY 4: Thursday
Today you’ll travel north to the confluence of the Russian River where lies the Alexander and Dry Creek Valley’s and the small but sophisticated town of Healdsburg rich in cultural society and the highlight of today’s wine country visitors. Cycling along the Russian River Wine Road you’ll visit multiple boutique wineries. Today your first stop will be at Ferrari-Carano Vineyards where guests are treated to a selection of wine varietals in their dynamic wine center Villa Fiore. This architecturally magnificent Italian-style visitor center is surrounded by beautiful flower gardens and vineyard views of this impressive vineyard estate. Your next stop will be at Dry Creek Vineyards a family winery that was one of the very first in the valley. Lunch will served among the beautiful oak trees along with wine provided by Dry Creek.. This afternoon you’ll travel to the Alexander Valley where you’ll visit the famed estate of Jordan Winery where your exclusive tour will be followed by a tasting in their fabulous wine library. A tasting experience fit for royalty. You’ll have time to stroll along the square of Healdsburg a haven for visitors for shopping, dining and wine tasting at tasting rooms that surround the square and beyond. You’ll return to Daisy’s Guest House late afternoon. This evening you’ll enjoy fine dining at John Ash Restaurant for your farewell dinner. BLD / Moderate Cycling

DAY 5: – Friday
After a leisurely gourmet breakfast. Enjoy a thrilling zip line tour through the California Redwoods before you say your farewells. Perhaps you may want to visit the famous City by the Bay —San Francisco. B
